Full Mouth Dental Implant VS Traditional Dentures

While traditional dentures have remained the most common option for replacing failing or missing teeth, they have since become an outdated option for many patients looking to restore their smile. While dentures are known to be a more cost-efficient option for patients, as it eliminates the need for surgery and can be made in just a few short weeks for almost immediate use, they have disadvantages as well. Dentures cover the roof of the mouth and block upward of 75 percent of taste and typically rely on adhesives to stay in place which can be messy when they come loose, shift or fall out. If you’re seeking an option that feels and functions like normal teeth, our full mouth dental implants may be the perfect solution for you. We know our dental implants can become more costly due to using the highest quality of products and surgery requirements, which is why we offer competitive third-party financing to fit your budget. The healing process for dental implants is typically 2-6 months before we can place your final restoration, however, we will attach a temporary set of teeth to your dental implants the day of your surgery so you can reap the benefits of a beautiful, functional new smile!

Our Full Arch, All-on-X Protocol Explained

Among our options to replace missing or failing teeth is All-on-X, our full arch dental implant protocol. Dr. Wolf can replace an entire arch of teeth, eliminating the need for a full mouth of single dental implants. Our All-on-X dental implant procedure is less invasive than any other implant procedures, making your overall surgery and healing process shorter. What makes our All-on-X process so advanced is the way the dental implants are placed in the jawbone. By angling the implants with All-on-X, more available bone can be utilized creating a stronger, more sturdy foundation for your new teeth. Since All-on-X is done in just one day, patients leave our office with a brand-new smile and a restored self-confidence with a zest for life!

Step 1: Personalized Consultation

During your consultation, you will be able to discuss with Dr. Wolf you smile concerns, goals, medical history and any health conditions or issues we should consider. We will take digital X-rays and imaging, most frequently from our cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner, to help us determine your candidacy for each tooth replacement solution. To ensure you aren’t awaiting hidden fees or costs, dental implant pricing and financing options will also be discussed. Once you are comfortable with your treatment plan, we will start planning each step of your surgery.

Step 2: Dental Implant Placement

On the day of your surgery, you’ll check in at the front desk and be shown to your private dental room. You will be offered one of our sedation services - Nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation and general anesthesia - to ensure you are relaxed and comfortable throughout your procedure. Once you are comfortable, Dr. Wolf will follow the surgical guide to your customized treatment plan and begin the surgical process. We will place four or more dental implants into predetermined locations in your jawbone. This surgical guide allows Dr. Wolf to foresee any potentially troublesome areas and how to resolve them, making for an error-free surgery. Once your dental implant is placed, we will attach a temporary set of teeth so you can enjoy the benefits of your new smile immediately!

Step 3: Check-up Appointment

To ensure your dental implants are healing properly, we will create a follow up appointment to see you back a few months post-surgery. This will allow Dr. Wolf to check the healing process to ensure the dental implants have fused with the jawbone in a process called osseointegration, create a date for your final restorations and answer any questions you may have.

Step 4: Final Restoration

Once you are completely healed and the dental implants have fully integrated into your jawbone, we can finalize your dental implant journey with your final restoration. Dr. Wolf will remove your temporary teeth and install your permanent set of teeth for you to enjoy for the first time! Your brand-new smile will fit your face shape and be of a natural tooth color that provides function and beautiful aesthetics to live a confident and healthy life with your brand new, long-lasting smile.
